Calendula Latte

There’s nothing better than a warm latte. Especially if it’s being enjoyed under a comfy blanket!😊 Even better picture—you’re curled up with a naturally-medicinal herbal latte that’s promoting goodness from within with every sip!

Calendula is an anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial flower. It’s most commonly used topically to treat wounds like cuts, scrapes, burns, rashes, sores and chapped skin. But when taken internally, the flower’s medicinal properties are most impressive of all!

Calendula promotes the secretion of bile which stimulates proper digestion (big fans of that here at THHP😉)!

The flower can also treat viral infections, ulcers in the digestive tract, gallbladder inflammation and enlarged lymph glands. These are all painful battles that those living with IBS, Leaky Gut and Celiac unfortunately experience.

That’s the basic rundown on Calendula’s healing properties; but, there’s a whole lot more to learn! Head to this post to read allll about Calendula. Enough talking, it’s time to brew a comforting cup full of a nourishing Calendula Latte!💗

Calendula Latte

Prep time: 5 minutes

Total time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 serving

Equipment

Microwave-safe liquid measuring cup
Mason jar
Mug
Tea ball

Ingredients

2/3 cup water
1 Tbsp dried calendula
2/3 cup almond milk
Sprinkle of cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Pour water in your microwave-safe measuring cup and microwave for 2 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, place Calendula in your tea ball and almond milk in a mason jar.
  3. When the water is done, transfer to a mug. Carefully place tea ball in the hot water. Set time to steep 2 to 2 1/2 minutes.
  4. Place uncovered mason jar in the microwave for 1 1/2 minutes. Remove tea ball from your mug when steeping is done.
  5. When milk is warm, remove from the microwave and cover. Hold with a dish towel if the container is hot. Shake vigorously up and down for 30 seconds. A layer of foam should form on top of the milk.
  6. Slowly pour the contents of the mason jar into your mug. The foam will come last and sit on top of your latte. Sprinkle with cinnamon in enjoy!😊

Notes

I microwaved both the water and almond milk on the highest setting.
